Day 4: Chew Chew Chew

12 08 2010

My motto today is just chew, chew, chew. This is the turkey meatloaf day ! I find i feel very full after my meals, so things have worked like they were suppose to.

I had a protein shake for breakfast (I couldn’t fathom eating solids for breakfast), leftover feta chicken salad for lunch, and turkey meatloaf studded with Stilton for dinner.

Overall, this pouch test has been fine, and while I would love to snack on junkier stuff, the reason I did this test was to move away from the less nutritional stuff. Some of it snuck into my day to day when I was in the midst of wedding planning, so it is time to cut them back out again.

Turkey Meatloaf with Bacon and Stilton

1 lb of ground turkey
1 egg
2 strips of bacon
1/4 cup of bread crumbs or panko
3 ounces or crumbled blue cheese or stilton
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 onion, chopped
squirt of garlic-hot sauce (vietnamese)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees, squish together all ingredients minus bacon and cheese. Add cheese, and transfer to a 9 inch loaf pan. Lay bacon on top of loaf and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.

I cut this into 8 slices, Ken gets 1.5 to 2 slices, i eat only a slice.
1 slice: 152 calories, 8 grams of fat, 15 grams of protein

Ken’s feedback on turkey meatloaf is good… He says he likes that it is more solid than normal meatloaf (read beef) and it doesnt taste diety… well the cheese and bacon may have a hand in that.
